Life Saving Equipment Requirements based on Fishing Vessel Size
This is a resource created by Fish Safe NS, updated annually:
Hull length: 9m (29'6'') to 12m (39'4'')
Hull length: 12m (39'4'') to 15m (49'2'')
Hull length: more than 15m (49'2'')

Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) & Lifejackets

Vessels 15 tonne and under Transport Canada (TC) Requirements
For a vessel that is 15 gross tonnage or less, TC safety equipment regulations are Here.
There is also a TC program that walks you through safety regulations and requirements for free, called the
Small Vessel Compliance Program.
